Classroom training does an excellent job of making complex topics understandable. But how do we ingrain these lessons of leadership into our daily routine? It’s not enough to just understand an idea; it needs to become a genuine part of the way you think. At HTE, we’ve developed our leadership course to give you exactly that.
Instead of confining you to a classroom, we get you into the field with our Accelerated Awareness Leadership course. For three days in Moab, Utah, we will challenge your team with off-road trails. You will work together to reach objectives, navigate the trail, and overcome obstacles.
While many team conflicts can go unaddressed in the workplace, your team members will need to truly work together to be successful in the field. By the end of the course, your team’s leadership skills and its cohesiveness will take your organization to the next level of productivity and success.
After the course, here is what you’ll bring back to the office:
- Ability to overcome challenges. You’ll be able to lead your team through unexpected events and difficulties.
- Ability to work as a team, not as a hierarchy. Your team will learn to explore solutions together and achieve results as a cohesive group.
Day One
After a group breakfast, we’ll all pick up our Jeeps and prep them for the trail. HTE will take your team through a training session so they are qualified to operate their vehicles. The first day focuses on giving the team members the off-road skills and safety tips they will need for the rest of the course.
Day Two
We will begin putting your off-road skills to the test. But our focus also shifts from off-road skills to leadership and teamwork skills. It will take genuine teamwork, communication, and collaborative leadership to overcome the challenges of the trails. As the team accomplishes these initial obstacles, challenges will become progressively more difficult to further develop and expand confidence and team strength. We will provide the coaching, skills training, and mentorship to each team member allowing them to reach true potential.
Day Three
All of the team’s leadership acquired skills will be put to the test. Our guides will supervise the team’s planning and execution, and support the team as it executes the day’s activities. The team members will need to use all of the skills they have learned to successfully function as a team in the wilderness environment.
Through teamwork and the execution of strategic decisions in naturally challenging settings, participants come to understand the consequences of actions to themselves and others. They can apply this to work scenarios, to achieve greater success and save their organizations costly mistakes.
